Through her educational background in interior design and work experience in the residential aspect of the industry, Kiran became interested in the hands-on aspect of furniture making. After experimenting with creating a few pieces for her home she decided to enrol in the upholstery certificate program at Mohawk College.

Since 2006, Kiran’s been establishing her company Cherry Bomb Vintage as one-of-a-kind in the vintage furniture industry. Rather than simply reselling older pieces, she uses inspiration taken from modern sources like music, street art and fashion to create bold, unique furniture that's guaranteed to light up a room.

Aside from her own creations, Kiran does custom upholstery work for both residential and commercial clients. Recent commercial work has included reupholstering seating for Caplansky's Deli and Hank's restaurant. She also has experience working on large-scale hospitality projects via contract work for Eventscape, a prominent custom architectural fabrication company based in Toronto.

She also curates and hosts art and design events. In 2014 and 2015, Kiran and Rodrigo organized successful exhibitions for the Toronto Offsite Design Festival (TODO) at their gallery UPPER 751. In 2010 and 2011, Kiran co-produced Make It, a showcase of 30 local artists and designers benefitting Furniture Bank. She’s worked with Furniture Bank in several volunteer capacities, including being a five-time Chair Affair designer.
